The reason for this blog

When we left work at the end of June 2008, people asked us if we were going to start a blog to document our travels. At the time we did not know how to do this, so our first 3.5 week trip in July through France, Italy and Switzerland was not documented.

We are now on the verge of the next stage of our travels, having been at home entertaining visitors for most of August, which was very enjoyable.

We're off to Las Vegas next week, followed by a return to France and Tuscany by mid October, after which we plan to live in Switzerland for a few months and use it as a base to visit as many major cities as we can by train. Some of the cities on the list are Berlin, Venice and Vienna.

We will try to update this blog as often as possible for those who are interested in where we are and what we are doing.
